1.01 I Keep getting access denied message when trying to post to a forum. I feel nervous. (Back to Top)
Either you do not have the right to post to that forum (i.e. it's restricted) or you have been
banned from posting for violating the rules you agreed to upon registering. Lastly there may
be a technical problem with our server or aliens have taken control of BioWare.
1.02 I can post on one forum but not another. I could post on both yesterday. (Back to Top)
If you are banned in one forum you may not be banned from another. We have the ability to ban your account/IP from individual forums, all forums or the entire site.
1.03 Do you censor material or content? (Back to Top)
We do not censor for opinion as long as it abides by the rules you must agree to when registering. We do censor for use of inappropriate words. If you use harsh/ offensive language you may be banned from the forums for an appropriate length of time.
1.04 Can I use the word Cockatrice? (Back to Top)
Yes. We are mighty. Although extensive discussion on this rather bizarre creature may require
corrective action as there sure is more important things to talk about then this. Call me crazy but…
1.05 Can I edit/delete a post I made? (Back to Top)
Yes, but within 30 minutes of posting. After that it is locked.
Click on the "edit" icon at the bottom of the post. If the edit icon is not there then you cannot edit it.
1.06 E-mail Notification (Back to Top)
If you create a new topic, you have the option of receiving an email notification every time someone posts a
reply to your topic. Just check the email notification box on the "New Topic" forum when you create your new topic if you want to use this feature.
Be careful in how you use this as many, many people use these forums and you might not want to receive 1000 emails.
To turn off notification for any topics you have created, simply click here and you can edit notification, topic by topic
1.07 Do you give prizes for the most useless posts? (Back to Top)
BioWare does not but I'm sure the community will supply unchecked hostility free of charge.
1.08 What is a signature? (Back to Top)
A signature is a bit of text (maximum of 255 characters) that you have the option of adding to the
end of all your posts. Some people have famous quotes, silly quotes or quotes that have very little meaning
to anyone from Earth. You cannot include a picture in your signature.
1.09 Can I embed images into my posts? (Back to Top)
No. Plus the word 'embed' sure doesn't sound like it's spelled.
1.10 Can I have my own tags next to my posts? (Back to Top)
No, only BioWare employees or its publishing partners/special volunteers
have tags on their posts. You could use scotch tape to stick your own
special tag to your monitor but your friends might look at you funny.
1.11 How can I tell if A BioWare Developer/Employee has posted to a topic on
(some) forums. (Back to Top)
On certain forums we have turned on the ability to see if a topic has been
replied to by a BioWare employee. Simply look for a BioWare 'B' next to the
topic title. It should be fairly obvious. Not all forums have this ability.
1.12 Why do I get a white page sometimes with a warning about the content on
this page does not exist because it was submitted form data that has expired. (Back to Top)

1.13 Will BioWare give me the code to BioBoards 2.0 so I can host my own forums? (Back to Top)
At this time, no. If we ever do make a copy available for licensing/purchase or whatever,
we will let you know. If you are really, really serious about licensing BioBoards, contact webmaster@bioware.com.
1.14 Can you suggest good forums software so I can use it in my community site? (Back to Top)
We thank the fine folks at phpBB for creating the first forums software that
we used. We wish we could have stayed with them, but our needs are very different now. We
suggest you take a look at phpBB 2.0 which is an excellent rewrite of their forums software. And it's free. There are
also many other fine forums software on the web, simply do a search and find the software that meets your needs.
1.15 What are these forums running on? (Back to Top)
We use PHP with MySQL for our databases, running on Linux web and database, servers, load balanced and so on.
1.16 Will you ever have any of the following: Ranking by Post count; Image Tags by our names; Ability to put in HTML into my posts; Ability to post images in my posts; Funky and cool titles based on length or time/other ranking system? (Back to Top)
To all these we say a hearty no. We want these boards to be SPAM free. Ranking/HTML and
images lead to many a spam marathon. We are under a strict Spam free diet here at BioWare.
1.17 I have a problem with [some feature] and I think it should be fixed. What should I do? (Back to Top)
Post your problem in the Web Site help area. We will
take care of it ASAP. If there is something urgent: private message an Administrator or Moderator.
