hmmm this is my last attempt before i return the game. i just bought the game yesterday and trid to play it on my comp. it took forever to install but it finally did. i wednt to play it and the menu baord was all scrwed up. everything was gray or green and all blocky. i scanned my computer and it said that i dont have the correct requirements for my video card, but i dont know why since it says it is 32 mb card and that is what hte requirements ask for. also it said that my directx failed but when i first instaled the game it said i had the correct directx and it was not recomended to downlaod it so i click no to download now. i have an 2002 sony viao with 512 mb pentium 4 80 gb ata/100 NVIDIA RIV TNT2 MODEL 64 i dont know much about computers as i play most of my games on my ps2 and gc. i really wanted to play this game but since it is only on xbox and pc i figured i'd play it on this. i only use my comp for web surfing and email so i dont know much about the system and it's components. any advice would be more than helpful(or should i just return the game?) |

I've got two problems that is driving me mad :cry
One is is if I don't go into the menu and save that way then after a while of playing if i go somewhere where the game has to do the load screen thing then it will load with all the stuff that moves (people and droids and stuff) or can be things that can be activated (doors and things) but the still background will be black or this funny grey/tan color that makes me thing of walking through really thick fog :-?:-?
My second problem is after a while, no matter what I do if go somewhere with a load screen or a movie kicks in then the screen will do this little flash thing in the right hand corner and show part of my desktop background then it will completely freeze. After a moment of just sitting there a error message will show saying something like 'Microsoft is detecting an error in some file. Report error or Don't report error?' At first it did it every hour or two now it does it like every thirty minutes!
I'm running the game on a laptop but it's one of those new Inspirion XPS laptops. So everything is top of the line on it. When I loaded it up on the laptop it said everything was past maximum requirements. So I don't get why my Kotor is being so EVIL!!!!:evil:evil:evil
I don't normally play PC games, normally hate PC games and PCers, but this one drew me in and made me realize PCers aren't so bad. This 'dark side' PC game is making re-think myself and wish I had bought the Xbox version!!!! Sorry about the rant by the way. |

I am running it on both a laptop and home PC. My laptop has intel extreme graphics 2 integrated. Intel have a fix for KotR though with thier latest driver. So needless to say it does run fine on my laptop. FYI. My lappy only has a 1.5ghz intel centrino in it as well with 512mb ddr. Seems to run quite well with the fix from intel. |

I have a P3 866 Mhz and near 400 ram with win Me Radeon 7000
It's sluggish at some point, but I can run the game and play it. Only places that have lots of NPC, (because Bioware uses it's aweful AI system from NWN which causes immense lag) and textures like the good old desert planet or Kashyyk forest ground.
I think that if you have the minimal recommendations for the game, you can run it smoothly since I can run the game with my configuration with some sluggishness in some areas due to AI and textures.
Too many useless NPCs as usual. |

I am running an AMD Athlon 64 3500+ (2.29 GHz) CPU with 1024 MB of RAM. The video card is an old 32 MB NVidia GeForce2 GTS. The card ran NWN fine, if at low detail, but the CPU is new and I have not tried using it for NWN. Will KoTOR have any problems with the 64-bit processor and do I need to finally upgrade my video card? |

I know that my video card is the mobile equivalent of the 7000 and it works perfectly with little lag. _________________ You can't make anything foolproof fools are too ingenious |

My comp has 536 Mhz, 192 ram, 64 mb Nvidia graphics card, 168 gb hardrive, and 4 gb of virtutal memory. The game runs fine unless there are 10 or more people around, or during complicated cutscences. |
